Hey Folks,

My name is Peter Mather, and I'm a wilderness photographer (and general all around funny man) based in Whitehorse, Yukon. My passion is to get out in a canoe and explore and photograph our great wildlands. Most of my images are captured on extended wilderness canoe and hiking trips in Northern Canada.

I have a great passion for our natural landscapes and the wild creatures that inhabit them. My goal in sharing my experiences and images is to inspire and encourage folks to get outside, explore, adventure and expand our appreciation of our planet. I am currently working on a photography book on Canada's Nahanni National Park, and if you ever get the chance to paddle that great river - Take it!!

Photography Ethics - Unfortunately, in today's digital world, many of us are sceptical of the images we see. With my photography, I try to capture a moment with as much accuracy as I can. As a digital photograper, I use photoshop to process my images and to create images as I remember them. I do not enhance colors, alter compositions, or create situations. All the birds and wildlife featured on this site were photographed in the field and are truly wild animals.

I hope you enjoy my images and that they inspire you to get outside and explore our wonderful wildlands.
